About Sidi
Yoga first came into my life when I was 11 years old in the form of a fun activity organized for the grade I was in at the time. It then came back into my life when I was halfway through university and was looking for a fun way to get back in shape. I wasn’t doing any exercise at that point in time and even though I wasn’t overweight by any standards, not having an exercise routine was taking a toll on my body. I would get tired often, my lower back was always aching, my joints would make popping noises all the time - the list goes on. In my search for a workout routine I stumbled upon yoga for beginners video on YouTube that changed the course of my life. The video kicked my butt to space and back but simultaneously left me wanting more. I started practicing yoga with some regularity with my newly found YouTube guru.
Wanting to deepen my personal practice and also gain a skill that I could use to make some extra money on the side, shortly after graduating with a degree in journalism I embarked on a life-changing journey to the birth place of yoga in the city of saints Rishikesh, India to earn my 200-hr teaching certificate. While in India it became very clear to me that the path forward for me was one of teaching. So I took a leap of faith and turned down what most people would describe as a very good job offer (especially for someone straight out of the university) to pursue my passion.
And oh the journey has only begun!
I believe if you labor with love you will never work a day in your life. So I thought of what I am most passionate about: health, fitness, wellbeing, yoga, and helping people and I made the conscious decision that I will earn my daily bread doing what I love. I want to inspire and help people be the best versions of themselves possible. I will be sharing what I pick up along the way, hopefully it will inspire someone somewhere to take charge of their lives and begin their journey to discover awesomeness of unquantifiable proportions!
