And I'm Off!

I have a compass and I’m meant to head somewhere…
Northwards. Somewhere, northwards.
But I have no clue where I’m headed-
I know nothing of my final destination.
But I’m OK with that,
In fact! I’m actually very excited
For this journey I’m about to embark on.
My departure has been prolonged for the longest time
In my efforts to plan out every single second of this venture. Sigh.
“So am I ready?” I ask my self….
“Am I truly ready?”
One last mental check list
Before I’m out the door
Passport? Check.
Visa? Check?
Vaccinations? Check.
Bags? Check?
Grace? Check (I pray).
Everything seems to be in order
“Am I Truly ready?”
I’ll never know until I try
So I’m out the door
Refusing to look back
I have a compass and I’m meant to head somewhere…
Northwards. Somewhere northwards
But I have no clue where I’m headed-
I know nothing of my final destination.
And I’m OK with that.
And so it is with that introduction I welcome you with open arms to my blog African Yogini. African because well… I’m African and Yogini because well…I’m a yogini. Genius, I know.
I have wanted to start a blog about three things I’m very passionate about: yoga, food and life, but I’ve prolonged the process trying to prepare as much as possible for it. After 2.5 years of visualizing, dreaming, meditating, note taking, reading, and one yoga teacher training I came to the conclusion that sometimes you just have to throw yourself in the water and the rest will figure itself out.
I am starting a new chapter in my life as a yogini and as a teacher. This space will be a documentation of my evolution throughout this journey I’m setting on. And hopefully it will serve as a platform to inspire YOU to take charge of your life, be healthy, find balance, love life- simply put, just be the awesomest version of you possible.
Karibuni Sana.
